Captivating Ballet Comes To St Helens Theatre Royal This Spring
Classical ballet will take centre stage in Spring 2017 when the highly acclaimed Vienna Festival Ballet Company returns to St Helens Theatre Royal.
Vienna Festival Ballet is proud to present the classic tale of Cinderella, one of the best-known rags-to-riches fairy tales of all time on Sunday, 5th March 2017.
With music by G. A. Rossini and choreography by Sheila Styles, Vienna Festival Ballet’s production ofCinderella is based on the traditional story of a mistreated young girl, a glass slipper, two comical ugly step-sisters and a handsome prince which all combine to make the perfect piece of story-telling.
The ballet will surely touch and reach out to everyone’s heart, with its combination of pure classical dancing and a touch of pantomime.
The music contains a collection of Rossini’s most famous operatic achievements and has been especially arranged for Vienna Festival Ballet.
Notable for the continued freshness and strength of their dancing casts, Vienna Festival Ballet attracts highlytalented dancers from all over the world.
The company was formed by celebrated Austrian dancer Peter Mallek following his illustrious career as a dancer of international renown, in 1980. Now in its 37th year of producing quality ballet productions, the company continues to experience remarkable success and perform great classical ballets all over the world.
Vienna Festival Ballet is known for its beautiful and lavish hand-made costumes as well as its commitment to bringing the greatest classical ballets to the widest possible audience. Its productions have all the elegance and extravagance associated with the best of ballet.
