Theatre Producers Regal Entertainment Decide To Get The Show On The Road

St Helens based production company Regal Entertainments Ltd, are getting ready to take their shows on the road after 18 years of producing for St Helens Theatre Royal

The esteemed production company are highly regarded for producing top quality drama, comedy and panto productions, having held the tenancy at St Helens Theatre Royal since 1999 and produce all of the venues’ in-house productions – which each year include 3 seasonal pantos and a stage play.

After growing popularity and positive public reaction to their shows in recent years, they are starting off by touring their two most popular productions, the family favourite The Wizard of Oz and the riotous and debauched comedy Rita, Sue and Bob Too! to audiences far and wide with upcoming tours in the planning for both shows.

Regal Entertainments’ productions at St Helens Theatre Royal are always theatrical highlights across the region, continuing to break box office records year after year; during the 2016 season alone their shows which included Peter PanThe Wizard of OzRita, Sue and Bob Too! and Aladdin were seen by over 53,000 people – attracting crowds from St Helens and beyond.

Producers will be announcing venues, tour dates and cast very soon with The Wizard of Oz playing children’s school holiday periods and Rita, Sue and Bob Too! Will tour from September 2018.

A firm family favourite, Regal Entertainments have presented The Wizard of Oz an incredible 7 times since 2009 with audiences returning time and again. The classic tale set over the rainbow includes a hilariously funny script, dazzling costumes and sets, plus a wealth of brilliant songs and show-stopping choreography.

Past productions of Rita, Sue and Bob Too! have seen West End star Darren Day and Steps popstar Lee Latchford Evans in the title role in Andrea Dunbar’s hilarious tale of love, lust and the ultimate test of friendship. The show features a laugh-out-loud script and takes audiences on a trip down memory lane with a classic 80’s soundtrack.

Chantelle Nolan from Regal Entertainments said: “Taking our shows out on tour is something that we have been wanting to do for a while and feel that now is the perfect time. Wizard of Oz and Rita, Sue and Bob Too! are two of my favourites and developing them for a wider audience is really exciting. We have had an amazing response to our productions over the last couple of years so I can’t wait to get them in to new venues.”

Regal Entertainments’ shows are renowned for their high production values and have included some of the UK’s biggest star names including TOWIE’s Amy Childs, Harry Derbidge and Lewis Bloor, The Nolans’ singing sensation Linda Nolan, West End star Darren Day, Steps pop star Lee Latchford Evans, Coronation Street and Bad Girls favourite Deborah Stevenson, legendary Big Brother housemate Nikki Grahame.
