Hermia is a bold and feisty character and fascinating part to play. Director Daniel Taylor explained: “Hermia’s father Egeus wants her to marry Demetrius but she is in love with Lysander so her choices are to marry a man she doesn’t love, become a nun or disobey her father and die. Instead, she carves her own destiny by embarking on an adventure through a magical wood where the mischievous fairies come into play…”

One of The Bard’s funniest and most popular plays, A Midsummer Night’s Dream has been adapted by Helen Jeffery and this timeless comedy promises to dazzle audiences with an unforgettable tale of love and adventure. On a midsummer night, four young lovers find themselves wrapped in the dream-like arms of an enchanted forest where sprites lurk and fairies rule…

The successful actress who is cast in the role of Hermia will join an array of the city’s finest talents on stage to tell this most remarkable of stories. Daniel Taylor (Lennon Through A Glass Onion, Blood Brothers, The Tommy Cooper Show) plays the character of Bottom and will be joined on stage by Sharon Byatt (Mrs Johnstone, Blood Brothers, Coronation Street and Bread) as Titania, Chloe Taylor (Wicked) as Helena, Johnny Schumacher (Royal Shakespeare Company, Quadrophenia) as Oberon, James Templeton (Jesus Christ Superstar) as Puck, Tim Lucas (Legally Blonde)as Flute and Sam Donovan as Lysander (‘Erics,’ Liverpool Everyman).
