Thousands Of Fashion Lovers & Celebs Flocked To Liverpool For The North West Fashion Festival

Celebrities and fashion lovers assembled in Liverpool to see the North West Fashion Festival (NWFF) take over Sefton Park for an afternoon of glamour.

On Sunday 14th September, fashionistas queued in their droves at the red carpet entrance to Sefton Park’s Palm House for the ultimate fashion takeover.

The event attracted countless cameo appearance from fashion-loving celebrities, including Chelsee Healey (who is best known for her role in popular BBC drama series Waterloo Road) who caused a stir when she took to the runway for Liverpool fashion label, Patty Fashion.

Farah Sattaur (former Playboy bunny and one of the stars of MTV’s Ex on the Beach) also turned heads as she modelled her new fashion line for Fuchsia White.

As hundreds of style lovers strolled through the Palm House and the surrounding marquees, it wasn’t just the well-dressed women who were attracting attention. Danielle Armstrong’s celebrity boyfriend and TOWIE co-star, James Locke, showed his style credentials when he hosted the NWFF’s official after-party at Kingdom Nightclub and boy band Stateside drew a big crowd for their impressive live performance.

Fashion lovers were entertained with live performances by MD Productions with their high-energy dance routines and by Jessica Steele (finalist in the Voice UK) and Lydia Lucy (who made it through to the final six in X Factor) and by hosts Ellie Phillips and Jay Hynd.

The thousands of glamorous guests who queued around Sefton Park to gain admittance to the glittering event were greeted at the entrance by friendly hosts flanked by a fleet of gleaming cars courtesy of one of the event sponsors Ascot Motors. Other key sponsors were: Elite Marquees, Aesthetically You, Rapunzels and The Hilton Hotel.

In between watching the celebrity performances and eight catwalk shows which took place in the Palm House (which was the hub of the event) guests strolled between 10 different marquees including a VIP marquee and media centre, a marquee where celebrities could enjoy their favourite ‘skinny cocktails’ made with Skinny V, and marquees hosted by big names such as The Hilton, Playground, The Bierkeller Entertainment Complex and Kingdom. There was also a Pamper marquee, where guests were treated to free beauty treatments, and a Master-class marquee, where fashion lovers could hone their makeup skills and learn the tricks of the trade. Plus master caterer Adam Franklin of The Yacht Club provided tempting treats from his kitchen throughout the course of the afternoon.

With London Fashion Week in full swing, many celebrities eschewed the usual round of fashion parties in the capital to attend the NWFF and show their support for the North West’s burgeoning style scene and event organisers said that they had been overwhelmed by the level of support from local businesses, celebrities and visitors.

Designers including: KU Spendlove, Lola Loves, Mode Mwah, Mark Melia, Didi Boutique, Patty Fashion, Ben Mak, Fuschia White, Miss Francesca Couture, The Dressing Room and Ten Men Clothing showcased stunning new collections, showing that London isn’t the UK’s only style capital.

Event organiser and Founder of Chic Networking, Lauren Greene, commented: “We were delighted to welcome more than 1,500 guests to the NWFF and have been overwhelmed by the level of support by celebrities, sponsors, the designers and performers and, of course, our guests.

“We knew that given the level of design talent and passion for fashion in the North West, this event would attract a lot of interest, but we really have been overwhelmed with the response to the first NWFF. This will be the first of many and we’re incredibly proud to have had the opportunity to highlight the North West’s impressive style credentials.”

Paul Knowles, Director of the multi-award winning PK Agency, and fellow organiser of the NWFF, added: “We’ve welcomed thousands of visitors, dozens of members of the national and international press and a fantastic mix of celebs to the NWFF. We’ve been delighted by the feedback from everyone who attended this year and are already making plans for next year. Watch this space!”

Highlights of this year’s NWFF included 30 fashion exhibitions with pop-up shops and live mannequins, plus 25 carefully selected designers showcasing their wares, runway shows, live performances, DJs, 10 marquees and celebrity hosts. It made for a truly impressive spectacle at the heart of Sefton Park and following the fantastic turnout this year, visitors are already speculating about what organisers have planned for next year.
