Thousands of food and drink lovers congregated at the Bierkeller Entertainment Complex’s hugely popular marquee within Sefton Park during the Liverpool Food And Drink Festival.

The annual event attracted record attendance figures of 45,000 people over three days this year with top chefs Yotam Ottolenghi and Tom Kerridge joining more than 160 Merseyside chefs and regional producers to serve up a giant open-air feast.

The Bierkeller Entertainment Complex’s giant marquee was one of the main attractions at the show, with thousands sampling the world’s best beers there while being entertained by the inimitable ‘Ukebox’, the ukulele playing sensations, who played hits from the likes of Beyoncé, Rhianna and the Beach Boys.

Peter Robinson, Operations Director at the Bierkeller Entertainment Complex, commented: “We were delighted to have a huge presence at the Liverpool Food And Drink Festival. We served up world class beers and kept our guests entertained with live performances by Ukebox.”

He added: “If it’s entertainment you’re after, these guys deliver it flawlessly. They’re unbelievably talented and great fun and they contributed towards creating the fantastic atmosphere we had in the Bierkeller Entertainment Complex marquee throughout the three-day show.”

Antonia Mills, Liverpool Bierkeller Manager, added: “We’re so proud of the Bierkeller Entertainment team. Everyone’s worked really hard to serve the thousands of customers who’ve streamed through our marquee with a smile.

“We’ve been really pleased with the huge number of food and drink lovers we’ve served over just three days and with the fantastic feedback from everyone who attended the show.”

Following the record attendance at this year’s Food & Drink Festival with big names like the Bierkeller Entertainment Complex proving a big draw for guests, food themed activities will continue throughout the week with a programme of food and drink events in restaurants, bars, pubs, cafes and arts centres across Liverpool.

Denise Harris, Liverpool Food and Drink Festival Event Director, said: “I have been blown away by the turnout at the festival this weekend. Liverpool Food and Drink Festival gets bigger and better every year, and the standard of our city’s great restaurants and bars at the moment is fantastic.”

“It was a real coup for us to have both Yotam Ottolenghi and Tom Kerridge at this year’s Liverpool Food And Drink Festival. Neither of them commit to taking part in many food and drink festivals so it was a huge honour to have them both at the event.

If you weren’t lucky enough to attend this year’s Food & Drink Festival, organisers promise that it’ll be back bigger and better than ever next year. In the meantime, the team at the Bierkeller Entertainment Complex will continue to serve up the world’s most tempting beers while seeking out the best live entertainment acts in the business.
