The North West’s Answer To The Kardashians, Lubaina & Lamya, Take The Fashion World By Storm

By  |

North West-based sisters, Lubaina and Lamya, are following in the footsteps of the Kardashian sisters, joining forces to launch their own fashion empire.

The sisters have made their dream career a reality by launching Fuschia White, a chic online boutique for fashion lovers.

Fuschia White was born out of the sisters’ desire to find a website that concentrated more on quality than quantity and helped women to avoid the fashion nightmare of turning up to an event wearing the same outfit as someone else.

The glamorous sisters are often likened to the Kardashians. However, while the Kardashians’ online version of their DASH store focuses on LA luxe styles and on promoting the sisters’ fragrances, Lubaina and Lamya wanted to offer something a little different which would appeal to the region’s savvy fashion lovers.

The pair said: “We’ve infused our own styles into one joint venture, giving young independent women a place where they can go and find high-quality garments without breaking the bank. Our motto is, ‘don’t be like the rest of them – be different!’”

It’s a philosophy which clearly appeals to the fashion crowd. Already, celebrities have been snapping up Fuschia White finds to ensure that they stand out on the red carpet. The brand’s become an instant hit with high-profile clients who are under pressure to stay ahead of the fashion trends.

The sisters are keen to explain that launching their own fashion business together hasn’t been an overnight success story. They both had a keen interest in fashion and beauty from an early age and have been honing their talents for years.

Lubaina studied fashion at The Manchester College and went on to complete a three-year course in Fashion and Design at the University of Westminster in London.  During those three years, Lubaina worked at Abercrombie and Fitch as a retail assistant, completed a seven week production internship at Matthew Williamson and later came back to Manchester to undertake a six month design internship at Kurt Muller whilst working for the family business.

Lamya studied for her A-levels at Parrs Wood College, then went on to gain her Diploma as a MUA from the school of make-up. She is now the head MUA for Fuschia White.

The website has a clean, modern style and unlike many other online retailers, the sisters have resisted the temptation to cash in by bulk buying popular on-trend pieces. Instead, every two weeks a new collection is uploaded onto the website, focusing on colour, detail and design.

No one piece is similar to another piece available on the site, which goes with the sisters’ motto of being different. They want to make sure that women feel confident when wearing a piece from the collection, yet still feel natural. “Simplicity is elegance”, the pair say.

Thanks to the early success of the website, which is proving popular with those who struggle to find something a little different on the high street, and to their own unique sense of style, which makes Lubaina and Lamya stand out from the crowd for all the right reasons, we’re likely to see a lot more of two of the North West’s most stylish sisters over the coming years.
