Rookwood Steak House And Bar In Liverpool

By  |

So last week me and a friend went to “The Rookwood” restaurant on Back Colquit Street and it was absolutely lovely. On arrival a friendly waitress, took us to our table, and promptly filled us in on the specials. We took a look at the menu and decided to have a main and a desert. The cocktail menu had a great variety as well as some very interesting beers.

We both planned on ordering the steak and were asked if we wanted to “Meet the meat”. At first I was slightly taken aback but then we thought “ Why not”, lol and I am so glad we did. We were greeted with a range of steaks and informed where they were cut from etc. Prices ranged from £12 for 8oz Flat Iron to the 8oz Fillet for £24. T-bone and sirloin were also an option.

It was really nice to understand the background of where the produce had been sourced as well as additional information on how each cut was best cooked.

A few things that I learnt was that the steak is free range, grass-fed cattle from farms within 30 miles. Rare-breeds with traceable pedigree dry age for min of 30 days. Things that just get over looked normally. I ordered the filet and my friend ordered the rib eye and they were both presented with chips, onion rings and a peppercorn sauce. The steak was amazing and cooked to total perfection. We were both blown away by the quality of the food.

For desert I ordered the chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream (that is a usual fav of mine). I started out just wanting to have a taste, but it turned into me eating the whole thing, it was delish!

We both really enjoyed the evening and would highly recommend the fabulous food and very friendly staff, which made the visit here a brilliant experience.

I will be giving the burger a go next as I have been told these are equally as nice as the steaks.
